  • TAMBOURINES HAVE ZILS

SHIKI IS NOT A TRUE TAMBOURINIST

  • 1. “I Brought a Smile”
Actually appears to be titled “Rough-maker”. Another telling of Parsee’s history as the bridge princess and her association with Yuugi. Purposely reminiscent of the video made to Cool & Crete’s version of “Locked Girl”. A few moments I don’t quite get—the blood on Parsee’s hand, the rippling of water(?) coming through her floor briefly, and that moment of realizing…something. (I think she realized she’d gravely wronged the man in the couple she was jealous of, but I’m not quite getting all the details.)

    2. “Suwako Plays the Tambourine”
    3. “Shikieiki Plays the Tambourine”
Single loop of animation with edited clips of the respective themes. Obviously a meme of some sort…ah, there we go. Based on what appears to be a looped clip from the ending credits Working!, entitled “Yamada and Souma Just Play the Tambourine”.

(@Mushyrules: That would explain why she couldn’t wake up Komachi. Perhaps she was trying to call attention to her subordinate’s failure to procure her a proper tambourine? Alternatively, blame the artist.)

And before it passes us by, Happy Halloween, all!

  • I swear the anticipation for the ZUN-trumpets to start playing killed me during the second and third video.

Oh, and I realized Walfas updates every Sunday!
    The more you know~

    Happy Halloween everyone!

  • @Sprocket

Actually it’s “Laugh Maker” by Bump of Chicken

  • @Anonymous:

Bloody ambiguous Japanese spelling of English. Not that it excuses me from not getting the right word from context, even if I’ve never read that story.

  • @Sprocket If you still haven’t looked up the lyrics to the song and found out what the water on the floor or the moment of realization were about, I’d be happy to fill you in on them.

The water is tears. Should be enough of them to make opening the door difficult. So she was going to ask Yuugi to push from her side.

The realization was that Yuugi wasn’t on the other side of the door anymore.

  • @Marker Mage:
Appreciate it. It’s been a busy week, so yes, I haven’t had time to check the lyrics myself.

Odd about the tears; I didn’t see so many of them falling before they seemed to well up out of the floor. Also, I’m not sure why Parsee would flash back to the man in that couple she was watching when she realized Yuugi wasn’t there, but at least there’s some context now.

  • From what I can gather from the video:

The girl in the first flashback with the man, the same one who was crying in the second flashback, was Parsee, back when she was human.
The man she loved fell in love with another woman (the one with longer hair, confusing because she only appears in a couple short frames and wears a similar pink kimono to pre-Parsee.)
Feeling scorned, Parsee killed the man she loved in a jealous rage… Hence the blood on her hands and in the water.
That was (apparently) when she was ‘cursed’ and became a Youkai of jealousy, complete with change of hair and eye colour. Oh, and pointy ears and fangs.
    Plenty to cry about… =(

Anyone have a better explanation or some clarifications?
