Misamari Sketch

???×?????????????????????

(Nicovideo)

The combination of two awesome things: Hidamari Sketch and Touhou! This is a parody of Hidamari Sketch’s Season 1 OP, “Sketch Switch,” but of course, with Touhou characters. Here’s the artist’s pixiv page if anyone’s interested (just because it’s linked to in the video description on nicovid). If you’re looking for more videos to watch, don’t forget yesterday’s other post! And now, the rest of this post will be about how awesome Hidamari Sketch is (and some other things).

Hidamari Sketch is super awesome. I’ll get around to watching the last episode of season 2 over winter break (which starts on Wednesday for us). And then I’ll finally start watching some other series! I have this weird thing where I don’t usually watch more than one series at a time, and since Hidamari Sketch subs were incredibly slow for the past few months (but thanks for finishing them, SpoonSubs!), I haven’t actually watched any other anime series in a really long time. I think maybe I’ll watch Sketchbook over winter break too.

Anyway, no daily flash today because even though I only had one homework assignment, it ended up taking a long time (I made an interactive map of Myanmar in Flash for a group project!). Oh well, winter break begins after school ends tomorrow, so that’s something to look forward to. That, and getting my SAT scores tomorrow, even though the results don’t matter anymore now that I’m no longer applying to colleges.

  • I am in the middle of watching the second season too! And I also plan on finishing over the Christmas break! Yay!

  • I have yet to watch this Hidamari Sketch show, but Walfas has made me interested in it. What’s it about, if anything?

  • Awesome, I want more Hidamari Sketch.

@Person: Basically slice of life featuring 4 art school students.

  • Sounds interesting enough to me.

  • Ugg, I rememeber waiting for SpoonSubs to finish Hidamari x365. It took forever D:

  • @fishball: Have your prize ( `・ω・´)つ[PRIZE]

There was also that Touhou parody of a Pani Poni Dash OP just yesterday. I have never watched it or Hidamari Sketch (or maybe a little if I remember) but I haven’t been watching lot of animes recently. Just CLANNAD After Story because the game was so ヽ(´▽`)/ (゚д゚) (´;ω;`) (;゚ Д゚) (ノ’.’)ノ☆ ヽ(°∀°)ノ ・゚・(ノД`;)・゚・ and some more (´;ω;`)

  • NoWaiThatsImpossible :O

    i lol’d at fat kanako :O

and Yuyuko is killing the rice D:”

  • Hidamarisa!

Hm … maybe I should watch Hidamari Sketch, after I eventually get done with Lucky Star …

  • Dang it, I can’t find the first season anywhere! Stupid liscencers…

  • fishball: Did you post it at 11:11 deliberately? O_O

    Person: http://www.boxtorrents.com/torrent/142411/Hidamari_Sketch_DVD_Specials_Shintani-Spoon.html

    That video is awesome!

  • @NoWaiThatsImpossible :O: And there is a super fat Letty with her lol XD

This is pretty awesome, you’ve made me wanna go watch Hidamari Sketch now :D

  • nice, a pretty good combination of 2 of my faves. | __ | Hidamari Sketch

  • @Person: Try with Shintani and Spoon Subs.

I love the Hidamari style, so yeah, the first thing that catch my attention was Yuyuko eating the rice.

  • Well, I was wanting for an Azumanga Daioh one…. But what the heck. I like this.

  • My computer doesn’t use torrents for some reason (always crashes the computer).

And eh…I managed to find the first episode(and ONLY the first episode). It has potential, but the subs are awful. Subs that randomly don’t translate things easily translatable and putting them in a long translator’s note at the top just don’t do it for me.

  • Oh cool, they finished making it.

Wait. You didn’t finish Hidamari Sketch yet? Sheesh.
Don’t forget to check out the two special episodes.

  • Someoneyoudontknow=o

xD Nice find. I wish I understood half the things people are talking about right now…(I’m an outsider I know T-T)
Also, in a reply to the question ou asked :x…not so nice content for those of a young age xD Apparently my school dame up with a sad excuse to ban here :x

  • @Someoneyoudontknow=o: Eh? Well I dunno, Walfas is blocked at my school too, apparently because it’s a “Social Networking or Personal Site,” defined by websense as “Sites chiefly devoted to personal expression by individuals (as in diaries or personal blogs) or small groups, often but not necessarily involving multiple links to similar sites.” I’m sure it’s not because it has inappropriate content or anything, though.

  • This was a good version of the OP than other versions I’ve seen. Only thing that sorta bothered me was Mokou’s pants when she was running with Suwako and the others (Her pants were really skinny than baggy).

..Maybe I’m getting into too much detail.

  • I mean it’s not like there’s anything BAD here…
You can’t even do bad things in CHEN!

I mean not without a lot of work on your part I suppose…

  • Nah, I can get Walfas just fine from my school. I guess it doesn’t matter since it’s winter break, but…

  • @Squidgy: Also that is an awesome find. I am having a lot of fun with Shoot the Movie, by the way, it’s a lot of fun (especially getting pictures of chainsaw Patchu…)

  • I still have to watch 10-12, I’ll do it sometime tomorrow probably

  • Someoneyoudontknow=o

Lol well it was blocked for 18 content. Don’t ask me O-o

  • Fascinated about anime with artistic themes huh. Might I suggest Canvas 2 as another anime with a prominent art theme?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canvas_2:_Niji_Iro_no_Sketch

I’m not sure if you already know about this anime, but I’ll explain it a little since Wikipedia really doesn’t do much justice to the story without spoiling. The story is based on an eroge visual novel, but like most that have transitioned to anime, it focuses on the story and romance rather than any ecchi content. And it’s not really a sequel of anything.

It’s the story of an aspiring art teacher who gave up his love of painting due to events in the past, and his cousin who wishes to fulfill his original dreams as a painter despite her fear of the color red, preventing her from reaching her full potential. There’s a bit of a love triangle too, so quite a bit of drama if you care for it. Naturally painting remains an important theme through the entire story, hence the title of the series itself.

I’m just putting it out there in case you might enjoy the romantic visual novel genre. Feel free to ignore~

  • @Someoneyoudontknow=o: Hmm, well I have no idea about what that might be about.

@Stardust Reverie: Well, my interest in Hidamari Sketch and my future plans to watch Sketchbook have more to do with the fact that they’re slice of life than the fact that they’re art-themed. I don’t really watch too much non-slice-of-life stuff for some reason, but I’m sure someone else would appreciate the suggestion.

  • KIRBY, YOU AND I CAN BE LIKE BEST BUDDIES BECAUSE OF OUR TASTES

  • Well, as I’m a fan of both Touhou and Hidamari Sketch, this video is like the ultimate combo of win for me. :P

  • Ah, precious Hidamari Sketch. You’ll always hold a place in my heart, even if subbing you killed all interest I had in anime.

  • @Kilga: Heh, I remember reading your name in the OP and I thought “wait WHAT”
