Walfas 1-year Anniversary

Well, as of today, Walfas has been around for a year. It’s hard to imagine that it’s been around for that long, but it has! Over the course of the past year, I’ve made a bunch of stuff. The site started out as one of those random blogs about random things, but it turned into a random blog about random things… made in flash! That, and Youtube videos.

With over 140 daily flashes and almost 30 Touhou-based flashes, you can probably spend hours and not see everything there is to see (not to mention all the experimental flashes that aren’t even listed on the Flash page). I picked out some of the stuff I think is worth seeing, so if you’re relatively new to the site or haven’t seen these before, now would be a good time to do so. The rest of this blog post is pretty much a recap of the past year, and contains a ton of links.


Daily Flashes are probably the biggest part of Walfas. They aren’t actually made daily, but I still call them daily flashes because I can. They follow the life of Unnamed Character and her friends: Headphones Character, Long-Haired Character, Bored-looking Character, and her teacher, Teacher. There are also various appearances by Touhou characters; the most common are probably Marisa and Yuyuko. Here are thirty daily flashes that may be of interest (I actually had over fifty daily flashes on the original list, but I decided that was too much, so I cut it down to thirty).

Another part of Walfas that I’ve sort of been neglecting for months is the Touhou flashes (I’ll get back to making some more… eventually). These are perhaps the biggest reasons why people even know about the site in the first place. Here are a few of them that may be of interest.

Another major part of Walfas is the “Create a Touhou Character” flash, commonly referred to as “create.swf” for its filename. It started out really simple, with six changeable parts and only four characters (Meiling, Reimu, Marisa, and Sakuya), but after many months of updates, it has practically all the Windows Touhou characters (SA characters are currently being added) and a few PC-98 and non-game characters. Here are some important create.swf moments.
